Piet hein Driessen

Chairman

Piet began his career in 1970 in Switzerland at a brokerage specialising in Jewellers’ Block business. In 1971 he moved to London to work for a Lloyd’s Broker, later returning to the Netherlands where he worked as a Director.

In 1980, Piet started his own brokerage, closely followed by an underwriting agency, both specialising in Catering and Jewellery lines. After being a Lloyd’s Coverholder for a number of years, Piet and his London partners, Faye Barclay and Matthew Aitken, decided to set up their own Lloyd’s Broker, Clear Risk Insurance Brokers.

Faye Barclay

Managing Director

Faye began her career in 2000 at a Lloyd’s Broker as a non-marine Placing Technician for property and casualty lines, progressing through the division over a period of twelve years. In 2012, Faye moved to a small specialist sport, contingency and personal accident Lloyd’s broker, where she ran the broker back-up team and supported upper management.

Faye was approached in 2013 to join a new start-up Lloyd’s Broker as their General Manager. During this time, Faye was instrumental in developing a number of new Casualty Lineslips as well as continuing with her client and underwriter-facing roles. She has also gained the experience required to manage and operate a Lloyd’s Broker.

Matthew Aitken

Director

Matthew started his career in 2005 in the Specialty division of a Lloyd’s Broker before moving into an Account Manager role handling Binding Authority and Open Market business. His experience later extended to facilitating an in-house MGA programme and placing risks on a co-insurance basis.

In 2013 Matthew joined a new Lloyd’s Broker as a Broker working on Binding Authority, Lineslip and Open Market Business. He also developed an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Product with a specialised market. Matthew has passed his Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma in Practice (DIP) and is at the final stages of completing the Accredited Certificate in Insurance (ACII).
